Nancy is 77 years young. A former art teacher, she retired after cancer closed that chapter of her life while opening the door to new passions, riding horses, and painting them. She has been riding for about ten years and hopes to continue as long as she can.
In 2013, her husband, encouraged by a friend, signed Nancy up for riding lessons at a nearby farm in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, as a form of exercise and strength training following cancer treatments. Her first encounter with horses was met with some trepidation. She had never done a sport in her life. At first, was upset with the idea. To both her husband’s and her own amazement she was smitten on day one and the rest is history. She joined the Travelda Riding Academy barn family in 2017 and has blessed the program with her enthusiasm, kindness, and grace.
Tom Krewse LOA, more affectionately known as Tommy is a 23-year-old half-Arabian and half-Saddlebred gelding. He was bred by the prestigious and historical breeding program, Live Oak Arabians. He had an extremely successful career as a saddle seat show horse, winning a national championship and reserve national championship and countless other regional and national titles under the ownership of Springwater Farm in Stockton, New Jersey. He joined Travelda Riding Academy’s lesson program in 2017 and has been an incredible asset to the program. He teaches riders from tiny tots to advanced show riders with the patience and wisdom of an old soul.
