My mare Chessie and I both have June birthdays. This year, we turned 100. “Chessie,” the barn name for Chesapeake Bay, AKA Chatta Blue Streak, is a pocket-sized solid Paint mare.
We have competed in shows in the Wellington, Florida, area at Training and First Level. She was always a reliable partner who loved having an audience. We have also had many trails together.
When I broke my hip ten years ago, Chessie was my therapist. She literally carried me through my recovery.
At the ages of 26 and 74 respectively, we continue to celebrate our life together.
Chessie, thanks for the last sixteen years.
