As Mariner (Fair Play x Flaxen Forli) approached 30 and I approached 70, I started looking forward to our Century Club ride which we were able to complete by riding Third Level Test 1 at the PVDA Fall Show on November 10, 2024.
Mariner is a Dutch Warmblood gelding that I bred, started, trained and competed to Prix St. Georges. He has helped complete three USDF bronze medals, taught several riders how to ride the half pass and flying changes, and has become a priceless schoolmaster: still teaching riders about half pass and flying changes. He enjoys trail rides and a few years ago placed third in a hunter pace paired with his brother Rafael (Juventus x Flaxen Forli). In September 2024, Mariner carried my cousin Brittnie down the aisle on our farm for her wedding, then posed for pictures with the guests. Mariner is the much loved "boss horse" on our farm.
