2023 Veronica Holt Dressage Technical Delegate: Stephanie Mason

Stephanie Mason (NJ) was awarded a $1,000 grant from TDF’s Veronica Holt Dressage Technical Delegate Fund. Stephanie was accepted into the USEF ‘r’ Program and used her grant funding for her apprenticeship requirements.

From Stephanie:

Thanks in part to my grant from TDF, I was able to travel and complete my apprenticeship requirements for my ‘r’ license. I traveled to Florida for Adequan Global 12 and shadowed Victoria Powers. I also went to the historic United States Equestrian Team headquarters for a show with Debra Reinhardt and to Red Tail Farm with Camille Kopcik! My final apprenticing with Michelle King at Dunmovin at Devon. Michelle provided a vast amount of information and opportunities for me.

The amount of education I received from apprenticing was absolutely incredible. I enjoyed helping the management, judges, and the competitors. I love knowing the ins and outs of what makes this sport successful. Knowing the rules to make the competition run smoothly is something I really enjoy while putting my best foot forward. I also hope to be a friendly face that people can come to ask for help, as well as maintaining fairness consistently for each rider.

I would encourage any dressage competitor to complete this program and understand the ins and outs of what makes our sport tick! Thank you TDF for the opportunity to receive the Veronica Hold Dressage Technical Delegate Fund!
