2023 Shannon Foundation Fund for Judges' Licensing Recipient: Jake Hardy (CA)

Thank you again to The Dressage Foundation for offering grants for us “up and coming” professionals. After deciding to go on for my judge’s license, I realized the financial commitment it would take, so I applied for TDF’s Shannon Foundation Fund grant.  

The grant helped me so much with adding extra educational weekends and to pay for the final exam which takes me out of my home state. The costs are big to get educated and licensed, so everything helps! 

The exam was held in Florida and took two and a half days to complete. 

My experience with the program was great. I learned so much and made lifelong friends. The mentor judges in the program were supportive and helpful. I will continue to attend many more educational opportunities and hope to use all this knowledge to give back to the sport as an instructor, trainer, and judge.

Shannon Fund

The purpose of the Shannon Foundation Fund for Judges’ Licensing is to provide financial support to dressage judges to participate in activities related to obtaining a judging license of “recorded” (‘small r’) or higher. 

The amount of the grants can vary depending on the need and request of the applicants but are at least $1,000. One or more grants will be available each year to qualified applicants, chosen by an independent selection committee.

Applications are due March 15th.
