2021 Lynn Palm Western Dressage Fund Grant Recipient: Samuel Bohner

Samuel was able to attend many events with his grant from TDF, including:

Equine Affaire  April, 9th 2022

• Samuel rode in two of Lynn Palm’s clinics .

Lesson with Leah Wilson of Central Ohio Riding Club

• After the Lynn Palm clinic at the Equine Affaire, Samuel took lessons from Leah Wilson to go over what was learned in the clinic with Lynn Palm. 

Clinic with Nancy Sterrett

• Samuel took a clinic off of USDF silver medalist Nancy Sterrett. Samuel worked on his seat, controlling his horse’s hindquarters more effectively and bending. 

CADS USEF WDAA LITE SHOW July 2, 2022

• Samuel won High Point in Classical Attraction Dressage  Show in Brecksville, Ohio. Their first USEF WDAA LITE Show.

CADS Championship Show

• Samuel and Bacardi overall Reserve Champion at the CADS end of the year Championship Show

Samuel conducts clinic on August 25th, 2022

• Samuel conducted a Western Dressage clinic for the 4hers of Wayne County at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio.
• Of all the clinics held for 4hers in Wayne County, this had the greatest attendance.

• Samuel taught the 4Hers the basics of Western Dressage.
• Samuel taught the young riders what it is to come down centerline, salute to the judge, how to follow patterns and how to basic movements in introductory and basic levels.

• Samuel won Western Dressage Basic test 2 and 3. 

World Championship Show WDAA 2022

• Samuel and Bacardi in Oklahoma for WDAA World Championship Show 2022

World Championship

• Samuel and Bacardi won a World Championship at the WDAA World Championship Show in Oklahoma 2022  Basic Test 2

An end to a beginning….Samuel ended the WDAA World Show in Oklahoma with a World Championship.  With the financial support of the Lynn Palm Grant from The Dressage Foundation, Sam was able to train with various trainers, show in WDAA rated shows and then complete his season with a World Championship. Sam has gone from 60% to 80% in just one season.  Samuel even went on to share his knowledge with young riders.  Many THANKS FOR ALL WHO MADE THIS JOURNEY POSSIBLE!
